Pre-Medical Academy

Woodlands is home to an in-house Pre-Medical Academy. If you live within our attendance boundaries, and Woodlands is your home school, then you'll be able to apply to this program! Our pre-medical students get an early exposure to various health occupations, and gain valuable career skills in first and and CPR, anatomy & physiology, employability, professional standards, ethics, and hands-on skills and services in this three year preparatory program. We also have a nationally recognized HOSA: Future Health Professionals club, which offers students leadership training, skills and confidence development, service and engagement in our community, not to mention travel, friendships, and fun.

Course Sequence

Students in the Medical Sciences Academy follow an intensive three-year high school preparatory program which emphasizes science, mathematics, and language skills and will prepare them to be highly competitive in the medical field. All courses are Honors level. Students also participate in real world experiences.

6th Grade: Orientation to Health Occupations
7th Grade: Exploration of Health Occupations
8th Grade: Medical Skills and Services (HS Credit)
